If you have ever used Bloodshed Dev-C++ on Windows you know what a fantastic piece of software it is. It uses the MinGW GCC compiler in the background with a fast and clean GUI to compile C and C++ programs. Quite handy for newbies on Windows getting a taste of GCC. Unfortunately the development from the original author ceased long back and there as no update of the software for years. The good news is that there’s a fork which is being actively developed and maintained: Orwell Dev-C++. The latest stable version is 5.4.2 as per the official blog. There are several libraries ported for Orwell Dev-C++ in SourceForge.
